Journal 1

Find four images using the resource links page that deal with the element of color.
The primary focus of the image should be about color. Post to your wiki under a page called "Class Responses"




Feb 22:


Project 1 due.
Compose three images and sandwich in photoshop> Edit using color and filter adjustments. Adjust scale.
DO this three times with the same images and variate tehm each time. Create a mood or emotion in your images through color.
DO not rely on content to create the mood but rather, evoke it through your design and treatment of the images.

You will print and mount all three images.
All images should be 5X7.

April 2


project 2 due.
Crate a poster using the text from a favorite poem or song.
The text should be treated as an image and the imagery should be treated as if it is a screen print.
Limit to 3-4 colors. Use the knock out tools (magic eraser, magic want) and explore how textures and color combinations can work.
Also think about the context of your text and how it its with your image and the meaning of your piece. Review Toulouse Lautrec for inspiration.

find three artists from the surrealism era.
Post three images from each artists and discuss their meaning and your impression of each. Use the language we use in critique.
include title, date, artist and link to the source for each image.
